Damarukum is a socio-fantasy film with more than 40 minutes of extraordinary graphical work by Hollywood technician team. This is the highest budget film in Nagarjuna's career till date. Plot of the movie is based on the novel 'The Immortals of Meluha' written by Amish Tripathi, its one of the Lord Shiva trilogy series. Technical team of this film has Chota K. Naidu handling the camera work, music department is taken care by Devi Sri Prasad. Editing department is controlled by Gautham Raju and direction is done by Srinivasa Reddy.
Damarukam is a socio-fantasy movie in which Nagarjuna plays the role of Mallikarjuna while Anushka does the female lead role. Dubbing artist Ravi Shankar plays the role of a super natural villain in this movie.
Like many other English films, the film is made in the concept of 2012. If all the Planets queue up in a straight line, what kind of tragedy will strike the earth forms the actual story line of film.
The movie is directed by Srinivas Reddy and produced by Dr.Venkat under RR Movie makers banner. Devi Sri Prasad had composed the music. Here are the highlights and sidelights of the event:
1.The event was attended by several bigwigs of industry like K.Raghavender Rao, A.Mahesh Reddy, Bellamkonda Suresh, Dil Raju, Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, Sampath Nandi, unit members of Damaurkham and others. Naga Chaitanya, Akhil, Sushanth attended from Nag’s family.
2. Overwhelmed with the success of Nag’s recent movie, Shirdi Sai,Fans thronged to the event from all parts of the state.
3. Damarukham being Devi Sri Prasad’s 50th movie as music director, he took the center stage through out the function.
4. DSP’s mother released the lullaby song of the movie which also happens to be the first of its kind in DSP’s career.
5. Chota K.Naidu’s Cinematography was one of the most talked about aspect at the venue after the trailers are screened.
6. Anushka is acting in a Telugu movie after a long time but unfortunately missed the function due to some other commitment.
7. It was a touching moment when DSP did not forget to mention about a subordinate who worked with him in all the 50 movies.
8. As in every audio function of theirs, RR Movie Makers have donated cheque of Rs 50000 to 20 needy people
9. In his speech, Nagarjuna had mentioned that there is no big director or small directors. And it would be an insult to call some one small director.And it was received with a huge applause.
10. Raghavender Rao unveiled the first CD and handed it over to SS Rajamouli and VV Vinayak
DSP has scored a good musical album for ‘Damarukam’. The film has some pretty nice numbers overall but my personal favourites are ‘Nesthama Nesthama’, ‘Sakkubai Garam Chai’ and ‘Shiva Shiva Shankara’. Duets aside, the album never lets you forget that Lord Shiva is going to be the predominant force in Damarukam, with 4bit numbers in all. The audio has done its job and Srinivasa Reddy must deliver with the visuals now.
