Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum
is the movie based on the life of B.Tech Babu, an youngster who comes
from a rich theater background. He hates his life as theater artiste and
is interested to go to US. But his grand father Subrahmanyam, a
legendary theater actor from Surabhi group forces him to perform one
last drama ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ at the Bellary Natakotsavam
before he moves out of the country. This is when he bumps into reporter
and documentary filmmaker Devika (Nayantara) who introduces him to his
past relating to the attrocities of mining mafia. The rest of the story
is how he fights evil form the crux of the story.
Rana had improved a lot as an actor. For the first time after Leader, he seem to have involved in the character and finally it lead to a much improved performance than his previous outings. He had put in considerable efforts in dialogues and dances too.
Nayantara has a very little role in the movie but she performed really well. Kota as Subrahmanyam had got an intense role. Posani Krishna Murali does a meaningful role in the movie and he impresses as Tippu Sultan. Milind Gunaji is okay as the evil mining Don Reddappa. L.B.Sriram delivers a terrific performance as the tribal Matti Raju. Brahmanandam and Raghu Babu are good.
Like every previous movie of his, Krish had got a philosophical touch to every frame in the movie. He had worked on every minute detail of the movie and took care the movie is crisp. Mani Sharma’s music and background score are major assets for the movie. The BGM had enhances the effect and intensity of the action sequences and emotional scenes. Dialogues are outstanding as in every Krish movie. Editing is neat.
Every movie of Krish is high on emotion and philosphy, Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum is no different. But he always failed to score off commercially. However, he had attempted to add masala elements with out disturbing the story teller in him and is successful partly. We will have to see how masses embrace it!
